Frequently asked questions

What's included in an insurance imaging deliverable?
Each documented piece comes with a 16-bit master file, a high-resolution JPEG for everyday viewing, dimensions and surface notes captured at intake, and a color verification report from a museum-class spectrophotometer. The result is a packet you (or your insurer) can attach directly to a policy, an appraisal, or a claim.
Will my insurer accept this documentation?
Yes. We follow the same standards — FADGI, Metamorfoze alignment, ICC-managed color — that museums, conservators, and underwriters look for. If your carrier has a specific format requirement, tell us at intake and we'll deliver to it. We have not had a deliverable rejected on technical grounds.
Do I bring work to the studio, or can you come on-site?
Both. Most individual pieces and smaller collections are documented in our Denver studio. For fragile, oversized, or non-transportable works — large paintings, mounted sculptures, mural-scale pieces, or full collections cataloged in place — we set up on-site. Scope and timing are discussed during the initial call.
What is the turnaround?
Standard turnaround on a single-piece insurance documentation is three to five business days from receipt. Multi-piece projects are scheduled in batches with delivery milestones along the way. Rush options are available when an underwriting or claim deadline is tight.
What if the piece has already been damaged?
We still document it. The resulting record establishes present condition for partial-loss valuation, repair scope, or restoration planning — and pairs cleanly with a written condition assessment when a claim or estate appraisal requires one.
