What We Do

Our focus is the creation of ultra-high-resolution digital masters of original artwork and analog film. Whether the medium is oil on canvas, 35mm to large-format negatives, transparencies, prints, or mixed media, we produce faithful digital files suitable for archival documentation, insurance records, publication, exhibition materials, and museum-quality physical reproductions.

How We Do It

Using advanced capture systems and color-managed workflows, we render texture, tonal range, and micro-detail with exceptional accuracy. Every project is handled with conservation-level care, controlled lighting, and calibrated equipment to ensure the integrity of the original work is preserved.

Our Commitment

It's simple: protect the artwork, honor the artist's intent, and create enduring digital assets that safeguard your collection for decades to come.

Film Scanning & Digital Preservation

Rediscover the depth, grain, and timeless beauty of analog photography through museum-grade film scanning. Each frame is treated as a fine-art original — captured on a Phase One system with medium-format precision and perfectly balanced color management. We translate the tactile richness of negatives, slides, and transparencies into luminous digital masters that retain the character, warmth, and intent of the original image.

From individual artists preserving a lifetime of work to collectors and galleries archiving analog catalogs, our process ensures every detail endures. The result is a true-to-life digital file ready for exhibition printing, archival storage, or future-proof reproduction — where the analog soul of your art meets the precision of modern imaging.

Insurance

Our digital imaging services offer significant benefits to insurance companies specializing in art collections. These distinctive digital replicas of artworks create a thorough visual archive, crucial for policy underwriting and claim assessment. High-resolution images from pyxartis deliver precise details about each artwork such as its condition, size, and unique characteristics, allowing insurers to calculate risk and determine fitting premiums accurately.

Digital duplicates of your art collection prove indispensable in claims scenarios, assisting insurers to confirm pre-claim artwork conditions and expedite fair settlements. In theft incidents, the detailed digital references assist in recovery efforts, serving as a visual aid for law enforcement and art recovery experts. Furthermore, the act of digitizing the collection encourages policyholders to maintain accurate records of their artworks, a fundamental part of risk management in art insurance, ultimately helping insurers better manage their risk.

Reproduction

Preserving irreplaceable works through museum-quality reproduction not only safeguards your art for future generations, but also supports artists' ongoing creative journeys. As a collector or museum, your most treasured pieces have inherent historical and sentimental value worth protecting. Artists can enhance their impact and broaden audiences by producing high-quality, limited edition prints. By investing in our high-fidelity reproductions, you can confidently share your masterpieces more widely while keeping the originals safely preserved.

Our museum-quality fine art reproductions capture every subtle hue and intricate detail of the original work. Using advanced color verification and state-of-the-art imaging technology, we meticulously produce giclée prints that authentically embody the full depth and dimension of the artist's vision. You can proudly display our reproductions with complete confidence that the integrity and spirit of the original art is preserved with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, so future generations can continue to appreciate these timeless creations.

Frequently asked questions

Can you photograph 3D art objects?
We can photograph any art piece, whether 2D or 3D. For 3D pieces we use a multi-axis camera arm, and photograph multiple frames on all cameras simultaneously as the art rotates on a precision turntable.
How much does it cost?
For film scanning, please visit the pricing & order form. For art reproduction, each project is custom priced, depending on many variables, including number of pieces, size and type of pieces, if pieces are behind glass, what type of glass, and much more. Please request a Discovery Session to determine your specific project needs.
What kind of camera or system do you use?
We use a medium format digital capture system, with a huge sensor, which captures 16 bits of data on RGB channels at 151 megapixels. This capture system is attached to an extraordinarily sharp lens with an incredibly close focal distance. The entire system is tethered to a high-end computer workstation for precision control and fast transfer of massive data files. We also use a 3D Photometric Stereo technique via a high-end industrial scanner to create 3D color data for textured reproduction, that can even mimic acrylic and oil paintings.

Trusted by art collectors, artists, museums, and galleries worldwide.
