How to ship film for high-resolution scanning

You don't have to be in Denver to work with us. Clients across the U.S. ship film to the lab. Here's how to do it safely.

Sort and label first

Group film by format (35mm, 120/medium format, 4×5 and larger sheet film) and by roll or sheet. Sleeve loose negatives and slides in archival sleeves if you have them. A short list of what's in the box — roll numbers, film types, any frames that matter most — speeds up handling and helps us confirm nothing is missing on arrival.

Pack for transit

Use a rigid box, not a padded envelope. Keep film flat, cushioned on all sides, and away from the box walls. Avoid loose tape directly on film. If originals are fragile or unusually valuable, tell us in advance so we can advise on packing before you send anything.

Ship tracked and insured

Always use a tracked, insured service and keep your tracking number. When you place a film-scanning order, the order flow gives you the lab's shipping address and confirms your return-shipping choice. Your originals are handled with conservation-grade care and returned to you; the digital masters are delivered through your client portal.
